Are you a System Administrator with 5+ years of experience with database administration in a production environment? You must be an EU Citizen (due to security clearance) that is based in Belgium or willing to relocate

Requirements:

  • 5+ years as a database administrator in a production environment
  • Experience with MySQL, MS-SQL, Oracle RDBMS and MariaDB is mandatory
  • Experience with Powershell and other scripting languages
  • Experience with Windows Server administration and Application administration
  • Experience with Symantec & NetApp Backup administration and recovery procedures;
  • Virtualization experience (VMware & Hyper-V management and administration)
  • TCP/IP protocol and related services in a Windows 2012, 2016, 2019 environment: DNS, DHCP, WINS;
  • ITIL v3 certificate + 1 more technical certificate from the list below

Certificates (at least one from the list below):

  • MCSA/MCSE: Server Infrastructure
  • MCITP: Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008 and above
  • (Storage) NCSA, NCDA, NCIE
  • (Virtualisation) VCA-DCV, VCP4/5-DCV, VCAP4/5-DCA, VCAP4/5-DCD, VCDX4/5-DV, VCA-WM, VCP4/5-DT, VCAP-DTD, VCDX-DT – MCTS,
  • MCITP: Virtualization Administrator (or higher) 
  • (Linux) RHCSA, RHCE, RHCJD, RHCJA
  • Oracle RDBMS database administration
  • SANS certifications such as SEC464, SEC501, SEC506, SEC511

Job Description:

  • Configure and manage databases replication, clustering and high-availability
  • Define and help implement proactive monitoring
  • Undertake periodic upgrades of database schema and perform testing and verification of released database schema upgrades
  • Work on maintaining database security (roles, privileges, and authentication)
  • Create and maintain documentation, procedures and best practice guides for database deployment and maintenance
  • Monitor system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements
  • ork with and advise server management teams to participate in release and change management processes to implement new features/functions as well apply mandatory patches or upgrades
  • Work with and advise the server management teams to install and configure DB servers and clusters
  • Monitor and test consistency of backups and DR copies
  • Implement audits and security related vulnerability scanning remediation
  • Support service owners, operations managers and service teams on operational projects related to customer’s foundation services, including interventions on ICT infrastructure (servers, backup devices, virtual machines, etc);
  • Drafting operational guidelines, procedures, installation notices and scripts for the integration, installation and upgrade of aforementioned component services;
  • Support setup and management of central monitoring infrastructure;
  • Assistance with roll-out of new ICT infrastructure projects;
  • Operate in accordance with the defined ITIL processes and procedures;
  • Performing backup/restore operations on data;
  • Development of scripts to improve central management and control facilities (central alerting, central logging, central security policy implementation …).
